Today, I've brought home a whole host of crafting materials to bring on a new wave of "craftastrophes!"
Before I let you know what I have in mind, I thought we should do a little recap of what I've accomplished from the original list from when I started this blog. I have accomplished 3 goals out of 10 so far: Posting once a month on The Eventless Planner, getting legally married, and the Embroidery Hoop Earring Holder. I've made progress on my MIL's throw, the thank you cards, and my mother's scarf, and I've made no progress whatsoever on transferring stuff from my old laptop to my new laptop (very low priority), the steamer trunk bar (there will be progress soon, as the weather is warming up), and the Origami Flower Ball Thingy. I've given up on posting the photobooth pics online. Sooo, I'm giving myself 30% credit.
Why am I doing so horribly with my goals? I've been distracted. For example, I've finished an infinity scarf, reorganized my kitchen (post coming soon), and made a framed pegboard to reorganize my desk. I realize that a dysfunctional space makes a dysfunctional crafter/goal acheiver. Hopefully, this new organization will help fire me up with my other crafts and goals. Crossing fingers!
Finally, about my new projects coming up: Look out for posts about a new lamp I'm going to make using the origami flower ball thingy design. I've bought translucent vellum paper in three different colors (see pic above). I'm going to make a flower out of each color and hold it up to a light bulb to see which is the winner before I commit to $15 worth of paper. =P I also have plans to make a smaller, second lamp inspired by Martha Stewart's design. For the lacy fabric (please pardon my misspelling in the picture above), I'm going to make my first attempt at sewing a shirt for myself, using my favorite lacy shirt as a template. For the canvas fabric, I was planning to (and am now having second thoughts about) make a slip cover for my last mismatched chair, or on second thought, use it to reupholster......the chair (also pictured above). This weekend, I'm going to refinish that chair, reupholster it, add casters, and add some more padding to the seat.
April will be a great crafting month. I just know it. Wish me luck!
good luck! I was hoping you wouldn't tell us so we'd be surprised about the new project. But there will still be a grand revealing of the final product.
